چکیده
Reforestation in the tropics is highlighted as an important intervention to mitigate climate change globally because of its potential for high CO2 removal rates, ranging from 4.5 40.7 t CO2e ha?1 yr?1 during first 20 years tree growth. critical meeting emissions’ targets Paris Climate Agreement, well achieving Indonesia’s Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) targets. Increasing carbon stocks through forest and land rehabilitation activities (RHL) one Ministry Environment Forestry (MoEF) five main strategies reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions sector. This study focuses on reforestation opportunities support NDC GHG by 2030. We identified unproductive areas (shrub, open land) with highly degraded conditions reforestation. Based Indonesian data cover change, we found that 2019–2030 (11 years) under a realistic, ambitious very scenario may remove up ?0.25 GtCO2e (equal ?23 MtCO2e yr?1), ?1.3 ?124 yr?1) ?2.7 ?247 respectively. international (Hansen et al. 2013), 2019–2030, ambitious, scenario, have ?17 yr?1, ?118 ?241 demonstrates scenarios can significantly contribute forestry-related 2030 Indonesia Business As Usual (BAU) 17% 35%.

Sustainable Development and Climate Change
Sustainability is defined in terms of four overlapping positions, ranging from very weak to very strong sustainability. The core idea is of a non-declining capital stock (including natural capital) over generational time. Weak sustainability positions emphasise capital substitution possibilities and the power of technical process to mitigate resource depletion and pollution problems. Climate ch...

Cities are perhaps one of the most challenging and yet enabling arenas for sustainable development goals. The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) emphasize the need to monitor each goal through objective targets and indicators based on common denominators in the ability of countries to collect and maintain relevant standardized data. While this approach is aimed at harmonizing the SDGs at the ...

The links between climate issues and sustainable development are manifold. Given these interconnections, the lack of close integration of the sustainable development and climate change literatures is puzzling; part of the reason for this lack of connectivity may be the very different research and policy traditions out of which each field developed. This paper argues that integrating climate cha...

Human-induced climate change threatens ecosystems and human health on a global scale. In order to withstand the worldwide threats to ecosystems, the concept of sustainable development was introduced during the 1980s. Since then, this concept has been widely applied to guide and focus policy-making. The present article reviews the health consequences of human-induced climate change on sustainabl...
